Vicki Dolores Jones, age 77, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband, Tim, on Friday, March 21, 2025. Vicki was born on June 9th, 1947. She is survived by her husband, three children — Andy (Nanette), Cathy (Joe), and JJ — her nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many family members and friends.
As a child, she was adopted by Vic and Estelle Milici. She was a loving child who grew up in Takoma Park, Maryland. From the beginning, she loved animals, and the feeling was mutual. The moment she entered anyone's residence, the family pet would soon be sitting next to, if not on, Vicki. Her pets adored her: Rosie, Lilly, Pepper, Leo, Shorty, Petie, Eddie, Jewel, and her current bestie, Clyde. She loved animals and small children. Every month, if she didn't remember anything else, she made a point to ask Tim if he had donated to the ASPCA and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
As a child, Vicky attended our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School in Takoma Park and went on to graduate from High Point High School. After high school, she got married and started a family. Embracing the role of motherhood, she gave birth to Andy, Cathy, and JJ.
She also loved her Husband, Tim Jones, and he loved her, and still does, telling her every day. Vic, you're my girl, and I'm your guy forever! From the time they first locked eyes, their unconditional love was evident. Tim and Vicki wed in 1979. Vicki was working at Bethesda Naval Hospital as a purchasing agent. She remained there until 1984 when she left to assist Tim in expanding A1 Catering. Vic provided lunch to the largest construction projects in the D.C. metropolitan area. She ran a spotless food truck and was adored by her customers.
In 1995, she retired from the trucks and helped Tim start Jonesy's restaurant and pub. As a waitress, bartender, and manager, all admired her, and it was here that her hidden talent was exposed. After much prodding, she finally picked up the microphone and sang her first karaoke song, which left everyone astonished. Vicki was so shy and quiet, but with that microphone in hand, she could finally express her feelings. It was beautiful. Whether she was singing Vince Gill's "Whenever You Come Around" or the Pointer Sisters' "Slow Hand," the crowd watched in amazement.
Vicki retired from work in 2015. In 2019, Vicki was diagnosed with dementia. She had complications from surgery in 2020, and dementia came out full force. With Tim and a support system of family and friends by her side, she fought for five years. Tim and Vicki were inseparable, taking daily walks around the neighborhood or up to their favorite spot, the American Legion, where Vicki would offer hugs to anyone she saw. While in palliative care for three days, she picked up pneumonia and sepsis. The lord kept her from suffering, and she was blessed with a new home. She's in Heaven and is waiting there with big hugs for everyone! Thank you to my family and friends for their support.
