Victoria J. Brown

Victoria Jene Brown (Vicky), 65, of Crofton, passed away on May 14, 2022, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Vicky was born on February 20, 1957, to Barbara Wrightsman in Hawaii. Her family moved to Alaska where she lived until age 17. They then moved to Maryland in 1974, and Vicky graduated from Southern High School in 1975. Vicky met her future husband, Bob, through mutual friends at a duckpin bowling alley in Parkland in 1975. They were married in June of 1978. She worked at the U.S. Census Bureau as an Administrative Assistant for 24 years.

In 2017, Vicky and Bob both retired from the U.S. Census Bureau and spent their time with family, traveling, going to National parks, MLB parks, and watching their 2 granddaughters play sports. Vicky enjoyed working in the garden, cooking, baking, sewing, painting, crocheting, knitting, quilting, and other crafts, but her real passion was sharing her talents with her family.

Vicky was predeceased by her mother, Barbara and brother, Patrick. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bob Brown, their daughters, Alicia Trust (Matthew), Laurie Simonds (Jason) and Jennifer Flam (Brian), her sister, Terri Burnette (David), and brothers, Eric Bierschwale and Gregory Hicks. She was the proud Grandma of 2 granddaughters, Abigail and Emma.

The viewing will be at Beall Funeral Home on Monday, May 23 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Vicky’s favorite color was purple, and she cherished her birth in Hawaii and her life in Alaska. It was her wish that we all celebrate her life and wear something purple or reflective of Hawaii or Alaska, and not somber black suits.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to pancreatic cancer research or a charity of your choice.
