Vincent J. Briani

          It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vincent Joseph Briani in his Crofton, Maryland home on December 23, 2023 at the age of 92. Born on February 13, 1931, in Fostoria, OH, Vince was the son of his late parents, Joseph and Prudence Brown (Camporeale). His parents were of Italian descent and immigrated to the U.S. from Patras, Greece in 1913. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954.

          Vince is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy Bragg Briani, who without a doubt completed his life. He was a dedicated single father who raised his three children, Karen Elizabeth O’Hare (Michael) of Severna Park, MD, Jennifer Lynn Alderman of Millersville, MD, (Charles, former son in law) and Timothy Joseph Brown of York, PA. He is also survived by four grandsons, Shawn (Tracy) O’Hare of Arnold, Steven (Tara) O’Hare of Frederick, Austin Alderman of Austin, TX, Blake Alderman of Denver, CO., and great-grandchildren Everleigh O’Hare and Zachary O’Hare.

          Vince was proud of his work on satellite communications systems and retired from NASA, Greenbelt, MD after 50 years of service. In their retirement years, Vince and Nancy enjoyed square dancing and traveled extensively.

          The family will receive visitors at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy (Rt 3 South), Bowie, MD on Tuesday January 9, 2024. Gathering begins at 1:00 with a memorial service at 2:30. Private interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD to be held at a later date.
