Vincent L. Caprio

Vincent L. Caprio, a resident of Crofton, MD for over 46 years, passed away on June 27, 2021. Born in
Newark, NJ on February 26, 1931, he was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Vince’s
greatest pleasure was being surrounded by his family, both Caprio North and Caprio South. He was
predeceased by his wife Adele of over 66 years and his daughter Sandra Jenkins. Surviving are his sons
Vincent Jr. and Raymond (Donna), his daughter Lisa Novotny (Joseph), his son in-law Jerry Jenkins,
grandchildren Renae Timme (Erik), Mark Jenkins (Stephanie), Raymond Caprio (Kendall), Katie Caprio,
Joseph Caprio, Andrew Novotny, Felicia Novotny, four great-grandchildren, five nieces and a nephew.
Vince was a stellar athlete in high school and received a football scholarship to the University of North
Carolina, a place he thought was the most beautiful he had ever seen. He spent his entire working career
as a cryptologist with NSA where his job took him all over the world. His final post was at the U.S. Embassy
in Rome before retiring in July of 1986. In retirement Vince volunteered his time at Seton Parish and was
an avid golfer at Crofton Country Club. Vince was the consummate gentleman, a loyal friend, and always
there for anyone in need.
A mass in celebration of Vince’s life will be held at 11am on Tuesday July 6 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
Catholic Church in Crofton, MD
