Virginia Catherine Granville

Virginia “Ginny” Granville, age 84, passed away on July 3^rd after battling cancer for 18 months.  She left us peacefully with her son and daughter by her side.

Ginny is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Granville, of Bowie, MD; her sister Suzy Walker of Columbia, SC, and her sister Alice Roe of Toms River, NJ.  She is survived by her son, Eric Granville and fiancé Susan Enos of Glenn Dale, MD; her daughter, Laurie Ambach of Chevy Chase, MD; and grandchildren James Ambach, Emily Ambach, and Dain Enos.

Ginny was born November 4, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up in Garden City on Long Island, NY.  She graduated from Garden City High School and attended Averett College in Danville, VA.  She married her husband, Bob, on July 19, 1958, and moved to Bowie, MD, in November 1964 where she raised her family and resided for 57 years. 

Ginny enjoyed people and animals.  Ginny was a loving mother and was a good friend to many.  She raised and showed Shetland Sheepdogs, worked at the Hilltop Aquarium and the Belair Veterinary Hospital. 

Family and friends are invited to the Beall Funeral Home, located on 6512 NW Crain Highway in Bowie, on Friday, July 8th, 2022, from 4 pm - 6 pm.  Visitation is from 4 pm – 5 pm, and the funeral service begins at 5 pm.  All are welcome to gather for food and drink at Anthony’s Pizza and Pasta House in Bowie afterwards to celebrate Ginny’s wonderful life.
