Vivian Beatrice Tennille, affectionately known as "Vip," passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on April 21, 1930, in Washington, D.C., to the late James Edward Kimble and Sarah Hinton Kimble.

Vivian was married to Raymond “Buggie” Tennille for 37 years, building a life together filled with love and dedication. They experienced both joy and sorrow, including the heartbreaking loss of their beloved daughter, Sheila Tennille, who passed away at the age of seven.

She was also preceded in death by her five siblings, Esther Alexander, Geraldine Charlton, James Kimble, Lillian Gross, and Lawrence Kimble, as well as her dear nieces, Brenda McCord and Alexa "Ray" Alexander.

Among her siblings, Vivian shared an especially deep and unbreakable bond with her sister and best friend, Lillian. If they weren’t together, they were on the phone, sharing stories, laughter, and the kind of friendship only sisters can have. Their connection was a constant source of joy in Vivian’s life.

Vivian was a devoted wife and a nurturing presence in the lives of her family and friends. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home, always ensuring those around her felt cared for. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support were a source of comfort and strength to those who knew her.

A graduate of D.C. Public Schools, Vivian valued education and lifelong learning. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and love of conversation. "She was a talker and a very sweet lady," was how many described her, even those who only had the pleasure of knowing her briefly. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as gathering with friends in her Bingo Club, where she shared laughter, companionship, and friendly competition.

Though she is no longer with us, Vivian’s presence will be deeply missed. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her, including her extended family: Jessie Alexander-Jones, Patricia Payne, Lynn Gross-Butler, Toni Johnson, and Terry Jackson.

She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will always cherish the love and warmth she brought into their lives.

The family finds comfort in the countless memories shared with Vivian and the joy she brought to those around her. In honor of her life, they encourage others to share laughter, show kindness, and cherish time with loved ones—just as she always did.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
