Warren William Snoots, Jr, of Davidsonville, MD passed away on April 9, 2025 at the age of 90, at his home surrounded by his children.
Warren was born in Arlington, VA at his grandmother’s house on September 19, 1934 to the late Warren William Snoots, Sr & Emma Lee Snoots (Thatcher). After meeting the love of his life, Ella Maxine Dustin, they wed and enjoyed 58 years of marriage before Maxine was called home to the Lord in June of 2013.
Warren or Sonny (as many knew him) will be remembered for his great sense of humor – The Jokester! Quick witted and enjoyed being the center of attention. He was an avid fisherman, crabber, bowler, horseshoe pitcher and card player. Many family gatherings started with horseshoes and ended around the card table. At one time he held the house duckpin bowling record for a single game of 243. He enjoyed going on family vacations more than anything, except maybe a cold beer.
Warren worked most of his life in the Dairy Industry. His son Robert and grandson Andrew followed in his footsteps in the Dairy Industry. He retired in September of 1996 from Giant Food Dairy after 28 dedicated years of service as the Chief Engineer.
Warren will truly be missed by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law & uncle. He is survived by his loving daughters, Peggy Owens, and Cathy Wirth (husband Willie), caring son, Robert Snoots. He was a most loving Pop Pop to his granddaughters, Amanda Owens and Carly Wirth and grandsons Andrew Wirth and the late Tyler Carter. He also leaves behind his great-grandson Trevor Nix and great-granddaughter Lily Nix. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Gertrude (Trudy) Cauffman.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie, MD on Tuesday, April 15 from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am. Burial immediately following at Union Cemetery in Burtonsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, our family requests donations made in Warren’s memory to Hospice of the Chesapeake in gratitude for the loving care provided to our Dad.
As we remember Warren (Sonny), our Dad, our Pop Pop, we celebrate a life well-lived and take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with our “Guzzy” and the “Legend”.
