Wendell Roscoe Adams passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2020. He was born May 27, 1922 in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Frederick Douglass High School and graduated in February 1941. In his high school year book, he stated that America’s greatest need at that time was “Unity” and motto was “United we stand, divided we fall”. As a young man, he had a great love of art, especially jazz music. His favorite musicians were Miles Davis and John Coltrane. His favorite songs were “Someday My Prince Will Come” and “So What” by Miles Davis. Music inspired him so much that he played drums for several years in a local band. After his music career, he continued his education at University of the District of Columbia. He had a successful career in Accounting for the Federal Government Department of Transportation. He retired from his job in November 1979. During his retirement, he became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church which he described as one of greatest achievements. He was a spiritual man and involved in numerous church activities. After years of church service, he was ordained as a Deacon then to Deacon Emeritus at Shiloh Baptist Church. In his spare time, his favorite pastime was playing golf. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Irene Adams; three brothers, Vernon, Ellwood and Stuart Adams; and daughter, Charo Hepler. He is survived by daughter, Christal Adams; son and daughter in law Wendell Jr and Shirley Adams; 3 grandchildren, Ismail Adams, Maryam Adams Little and Muhammed Adams and their spouses; 7 great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aaron Jr, and Ahmed Little, Corrine and Nekane Adams, and Amir and Semir Adams; niece and nephew, Michele Proctor and Hank Adams, several cousins, extended family and friends.
