Carter J. Ruff

Carter James Ruff, age 27, of Bowie, Maryland, passed away suddenly on April 2, 2022, in Westover, Maryland.

Carter was born on October 12, 1994, the beloved son of Eric S. Ruff and the late Susan (Susie) E. Meara, in Silver Spring, Maryland. He grew up in Crofton, Maryland, and attended and graduated from the Phoenix Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, in 2014.

From an early age, Carter was deeply fascinated by the natural world, and spent much of his time outdoors.  He was known for his quick smile, easy charm and immense love for animals. He was inquisitive and explored his varied interests by reading. He dearly loved his family.

Carter is survived by his father Eric and step-mother Paola, his sister Kaitlyn; brothers Conor, Cole, and Ryan Eldridge; grandparents Dr. Michael and Mrs. Karen Ruff; Mr. and Mrs. John Meara; Mrs. Laura Eldridge; Mrs. Linda D. Eldridge; and his loving extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Susie; grandmothers Letty Williams and Nancy Stone; and grandfather Gary Eldridge.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway, Bowie, Maryland, 20715.  A funeral service will held at 4:00 p.m.
